ELECTIONS AT THE CONGRESS OF MONTILLA, SPAIN - 2007

 

Note:    At the C.O.M. Congress in Silvi Marina (Italy) on 30th January 1999, the new C.O.M. / O.M.J. Statutes and Internal Regulations were unanimously adopted. Henceforth, the               O.M.J. Executive Committee consists of seven (7) persons, namely: a President and six (6) members, who have to be O.M.J. judges from the different bird sections (article 11 of               the Statutes).
              No member country may nominate a candidate for the C.O.M.-B.D. and/or O.M.J.-E.C. that does not have his/her residence in that same country (decision ratified at the 2006               C.O.M. Congress).
              In order to ensure the largest possible representation of member countries (article 18 of the Internal Regulations), a member country can only nominate one candidate for each               vacant position.

               

The renewal of C.O.M. –B.D. and O.M.J.-E.C. mandates will be as follows:

 

for C.O.M. Board of Directors:

1st year, outgoing (January 2005 Congress):   one Vice-President and the Assistant General Secretary;
2nd year, outgoing (January 2006 Congress):  the Assistant General President and the General Secretary;
3rd year, outgoing (January 2007 Congress):  the General President, one Vice-President and the General Treasurer.

And so on.

 

for O.M.J. Executive Committee:

1st year, outgoing (January 2005 Congress):    the three members of the Type Canaries (E), European Fauna (G) + Hybrids (H) and Psittacines (I to N) sections;
2nd year, outgoing (January 2006 Congress):   the three members of the Singing Canaries (A, B, C), Coloured Canaries (D) and Exotics (F, O, P) sections;
3rd year, outgoing (January 2007 Congress):    the President.

and so on.              

 

 

IMPORTANT REMARK

 

At a meeting held in Alicante on 28th August 1999, the C.O.M. Board of Directors and the O.M.J. Executive Committee decided that one same person cannot hold at the same time the positions of member of the C.O.M.-B.D. or O.M.J.-E.C. and that of President of a National C.O.M. and/or President of a National Technical Commission.
This rule, aimed at avoiding any conflict of interests between C.O.M. and its member countries, came into effect for the elections or re-elections of members as from the C.O.M./ O.M.J. Congress of January 2000.

    - J.P. Nery d’Azevedo (Portugal) :       Vice-President

    - W.J. Mulder (Netherlands) :               General Treasurer                            non-re-eligible

  • Outgoing from O.M.J.-E.C.:
  • - P. Groux (France) :                            President                                          re-eligible

    - Nominations for these positions (article 19 of the Internal Regulations) must be submitted, before the end of June 2006, to:

    - After 30th June 2006 (as per post-mark), no further nominations will be accepted.

    - Nominations must be sent by registered mail, duly signed by the persons responsible for the respective National C.O.M. or equivalent entity.

    - A copy of such a letter must be sent to the C.O.M. General Secretary, Mrs. A. VAN ROELEN-JANSSEN.

    - Every nomination (except for the re-eligible candidates) should include complete curriculum vitae of the candidate (professional and ornithological activities,    knowledge of languages, etc.). These curricula vitae will be published in « Les Nouvelles de la C.O.M.» («The C.O.M. News ») of September 2006.
