The C.O.M. General President welcomed all present.
The O.M.J. President, Pierre Groux, opened the meeting at 09.40 hrs, also welcoming all those present.
Present: the O.M.J.-E.C. members, except G. Cortese, A. Paparella and L. Bon (retained by a snowstorm), and the Delegates from 10 member countries.
The O.M.J. President announced the countries in attendance, namely: Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
1. The O.M.J. President delivered his address (see Appendix No. 9).
2. The O.M.J. Secretary’s report was read on the activities of the Executive Committee relating to the year 2005 (Appendix No. 10).
3. Elections (re-elections) for the O.M.J. Executive
Committee:
All candidates were invited by the President to introduce themselves to the
Congress.
(In accordance with C.O.M. Statutes, art. 12, the C.O.M.-B.D. and O.M.J.-E.C.
members are elected by the member countries in secret vote, by absolute majority
in the first round or simple majority in the second or subsequent rounds).
• Election
for the office of O.M.J. Member, in charge of Sections A, B, C (Singing Canaries):
Candidates:
M. Level (France), re-eligible, R. Mittemeyer (Belgium) and S. di Noia (Italy).
The
ballot papers were distributed to the 10 countries entitled to participate in
the voting.
First
round results: M. Level 7 votes, R. Mittemeyer 1 vote and S. di Noia 2 votes.
Mr.
M. Level was therefore re-elected for a three-year term ending in 2009.
• Election
for the office of O.M.J. Member, in charge of Section D (Coloured Canaries):
Candidates:
L. Bon (Switzerland), re-eligible, G. Cobbaut (Belgium) and R. Rossi (Italy).
The
ballot papers were distributed to the 10 countries entitled to participate in
the voting.
First
round results: L. Bon 4 votes, G. Cobbaut 2 votes and R. Rossi 4 votes.
Second
round results: L. Bon 4 votes and R. Rossi 6 votes.
Mr.
R. Rossi was therefore re-elected for a three-year term ending in 2009.
• Election
for the office of O.M.J. Member, in charge of Sections F, O, P (Exotics):
Candidate:
A. Paparella (Italy), re-eligible.
There
was no need to vote. Mr. A. Paparella was automatically elected for a three-year
term ending in 2009.
4. Administrative / technical proposals:
This year there was no O.M.J. administrative and/or technical proposal.
5. Other issues:
• O.M.J. judge
examinations: O.M.J. identity cards and badges of the judges who have passed
their examinations in 2005 were issued either directly to those
in attendance or, for those not present, to the delegates of the respective
countries.
The
examinations took place in Belgium, France, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal
and Puerto Rico, for 66 candidates.

There being no further business to discuss, the President brought proceedings
